Have you considered using social networking applications in
your library as a substitute for paid software?
For many low budget libraries
this is an increasing trend. The number of office 2.0 applications which
are developed and made available to the world for usage both in libraries and
in offices and by virutally everyone is increasing every day. It never ceases
to amaze me what kind of software is available for free. Why pay for software
for your library or for your personal use any more? Office 2.0 applications
along with social networking seem to be one of the solutions to help struggling
library budgets.
