Library Toolbars

Have you tried using a library toolbar? Basically that you do is you create a special toolbar for your library and then you install them on the browsers on your computers. You can include links to your library website, to news websites, important or useful websites for your college, or community as well as pictures and logos important to your library. One of the best and easiest places you can go to create a library toolbar is Conduit. I created a library toolbar for my library with this program and due to other projects as well as technology rules we have not yet been able to install them on all the computers but I have it on my computer and it works great.

Conduit is very easy to use, open source so its free, and does not require you to download any separate programs. I highly recommend giving it a try with your library or organization.

This was a great tip – we started making a toolbar (http://LTULib.OurToolbar.com/) for our academic library at Lawrence Tech Univ. (Southfield, MI), and hope to install it on our lab computers soon. Thanks!
