Hi, I think Prezi is great to impress the audience, but as soon as every new presenter start using it, it will become less awesome than simple slides in PowerPoint. PPTs can also be used in a classic mode to say a message, and you can also create nice and modern presentations in PowerPoint.

PowetPoint is a great basic tool to start with... Prezi makes it stand out, But I found another cool tool that creates animated presentations:

Somehow, you forget what presentations are all about. They are supposed to be intended to provide information that is useable and memorable. And the presenter is supposed to be the center of attention. (If not, why not just create a deck or a Prezi and e-mail it to everybody?)

Prezi takes all the attention away from the presenter, and audiences get so wound up in the panning and zooming that they often miss the point of the presentation. I hear them walking out talking about Prezi, not about the content.

A friend, a top level executive at a major nationwide insurance company, recently used Prezi for an all-hands meeting. Following the meeting he got so many complaints (including some from people who said they suffered nausea) that he has banned the use of Prezi altogether in the company.

Don't be blown away by the gimmicks. Remember the purpose of a presentation and let your graphics support it, not distract from it.

Personally I really enjoyed using Prezi - but I found that some people I have presented to mention that when the images transition they feel nauseous. :(

I found Prezi fun and easy to use. I'd never learned Power point and don't enjoy watching them. The way you can zoom around, in and out add all kinds of colors, graphics and imbed videos! I used it for a schoolwide presentation in which some classes had photos, others drawings, one a video, yet another a letter and I was able to cobble together a great looking presentation super fast!

I just skimmed the Terms of Service. Looks like if you sign up for the free version, all your presentations are not only public, but belong to Prezi to do what they like with (if they want to). Not sure how good that is...
